Ministry Goals
Ultimate Goal
We seek to meet children’s present and unfolding needs, so that
we bring children to self-fulfillment and maturity in Christian faith characterized by
- Personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord,
- Mature decision-making and behavior reflecting internalized Christian values, and
- Righteousness, true holiness, and the fullness of the stature of Jesus Christ.
Intermediate Goals
The ultimate goal will necessarily require attention to specific subtasks the accomplishment of which
will be prerequisite to achieving the larger objective, as follows:
- Reaffirm the primacy of the home as the chief agency of value development, articulation, and transmission.
- Disciple parents, who in turn will use the “image of God” model to form their household in the image
of God’s Son and present their children and coming generations both to Jesus and to the church.
- Heighten the congregation’s awareness of itself as the “family of God.”
- Provide learning and sharing experiences
- Arrange for young children to have a wide, systematic, balanced exposure to Biblical material
based on the Word of God through consistent teaching at home and at church.
- Continually evaluate the total children’s program in the church
- Pray for all children and their families that they will clearly see the importance of a
personal relationship with God and allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives.
Immediate Goals
- Getting children actively involved, learning, responding to the various programs and ministries
of the church.
- Increasing the number of programs and ministries for children to draw more families into
the fellowship of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
We are always open to suggestions for the children & ministry
at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
