Special
Ways to Volunteer:
Linen Closet: As
the weather gets colder, we will have more requests for linens. It would
be helpful to indicate the size on the sheets. Thank you to everyone
who brought linens for Lov’Em Thru Linens Day this past Sunday. The Linen
Closet is open through March, 2012, and we will continue to receive items
through March. Place you items outside the coffee area as you come in
the main entrance.
Operation Inasmuch – May 5, 2012: Mark
your calendar now for this opportunity to minister to our church
family and community. Roy Davenport and Roberta Cyrus will be coordinating
the activities for the day. We will also have a Community Health
Fair that day. Watch after the new year for more information and how
you can be involved.
Quarter Tube for Operation Inasmuch – Let’s fill the tube
multiple times! Donations will be used to provide money for Operation
Inasmuch projects we will do on Sat., May 5.
Volunteers of America Maple Court
Housing for Vets Needs: Happily several men are moving into
their own housing and need furniture including full-size mattresses.
Contact Joy Hager through the
church office for more information.
Donate your old Printer Ink Cartridges: The
WMU is collecting inkjet and laser toner cartridges for the Baptist Children's
Home. Deposit them in the box in the adult wing. This is an ongoing project,
so keep printing and donating!
Delivery of Videotapes to Homebound: Contact
the
Pastor if you are willing
to be part of the team that delivers DVDs to our homebound. Our
hope is that you would not only deliver the DVD but also sit with
the homebound person as you both view it. |
