Tabernacle Gardens and Memorials
“Be Still and Know that I am God”
Our Gardens are intended to be a visual sign of the love of God and are chosen as a mission of this Church to teach
His word to all who visit. Welcome.
Our Gardens and Memorials Committee, founded in 2007, offers exciting garden projects and activities using the outdoors
as an extension of our worship and as opportunities for educational and spiritual growth for our children, youth and
others within the community. Encouraging good stewardship of our God-given property is a priority for the Gardens and
Memorials Committee and we invite you to tour the living memorials along the prayer walk, the circle in front, and the Azalea
gardens. More gardens are in the planning and work stages around the grounds. There are a number of places for quiet rest,
meditation, reflection and prayer along the way. Bring a friend onto our prayer walk and have a picnic lunch while you enjoy the lilies,
dogwoods, azaleas, and a numerous variety of junipers and cedars in many shades of greens.
In 2007 the newly formed committee transformed the banks on each side of the entry drive from mud ruts into an exciting array of colorful
plantings leading up the hill to our Church’s front memorial circle and main entrance which is bordered by two more lovely gardens and
a fountain that transition one’s mind from a busy secular life into a spiritual and peaceful mind upon entry into our Church. Small individual
gardens, which create illusions of outdoor rooms, are available for you to enjoy. You may sit a while, read, pray or meditate.
We have a number of living memorials in our garden. Placing a tree, shrub, bench or other living plant is a lovely way to have a permanent
reminder of a loved one and new memorials are always welcome. You can donate a single item or sponsor a complete garden. Donations are
welcome. Call our Church office for more info or click here to reach the garden committee. Brochures on our gardens
are available in the Church office.
Please enjoy these pictures from the recent dedication of our Eternity Garden.
